Executive Consultant, Risk Management - Financial Services

IBM Global Business Services is seeking an Executive Consultant with subject matter expertise in Risk and Compliance to join our Financial Services consulting team. Our Risk and Compliance team provides end-to-end consulting services to leading financial institutions to evolve, implement and strengthen risk and regulatory compliance programs through global delivery, technology and innovation capabilities.

Our Executive Consultants demonstrate depth in expertise in one or more of the following areas: Financial Crimes (AML, fraud), Financial Risk Management, Modeling, Stress Testing/Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR), Risk Finance Transformation, Data Governance, and Risk Analytics.

Responsibilities include:
  • Navigate the complex environment of working within the largest financial services institutions in the world
  • Develop deep relationships within client organizations and work in cross-functional teams across diverse stakeholder groups, including client business and technical organizations, IBM's domestic and global delivery organizations and third party software vendors
  • Provide industry perspectives on risk and compliance topics and lessons learned from experiences gained
  • Define program outcomes and re-engineer risk and compliance related processes
  • Facilitate the evaluation, selection and implementation of supporting systems and tools
  • Exercise analytical skills and knowledge of risk related regulations
  • Lead project teams to successful project delivery
In this role, you will have the opportunity to interact directly with clients and will be required to travel up to 75%.

Candidates residing on the East Coast are preferred, but all locations will be considered.

  • At least 9 years of experience working in capital markets/investment banking, retail banking, or insurance at a management consulting company, a leading bank, or insurance firm
  • At least 9 years of experience in respective risk domain (e.g., financial crimes, capital management, credit risk, operation risk)
  • At least 7 years of experience in risk governance, process, workflows and controls
  • At least 7 years of experience evaluating, selecting, and implementing risk solutions
  • At least 7 years of experience in risk analytics/data governance and integration
  • At least 7 years of experience managing relationships and delivering presentations to senior level clients in financial services
  • At least 6 months exposure to Federal Reserve System (FED), Office of the Comptroller of Currency (OCC), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations
  • At least 6 months exposure to Basel II/III, Dodd-Frank, Enhanced Prudential Standards, Interagency Rulemaking, RDAR risk regulations
